The Masterplan of the Endoscopy Suite aims to update the unit in 5 phases while never interrupting patient services. Phase one of this project adds two procedure rooms and renovates an existing procedure room for the UAB Endoscopy Unit. The new procedure rooms are utilized for Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and ERCP procedures. The new procedure room and recovery unit is in an adjacent space that is located on the 6th floor of North Wing. A new sterilization suite was created to accommodate the additional growth of the endoscopy procedure rooms; keeping high-demand equipment central to the unit with an efficient throughput.

This project also includes future phased renovations for adjacent procedure and patient care rooms.
