The North Shelby Library interior is organized around a central, two-story atrium punctuated by an elegant elliptical stair and clerestory windows that provide an abundance of natural light for comfortable reading and energy efficiency. Large perimeter windows maximize daylight, provide a glimpse into the Donor Courtyard for outdoor reading and create a connection to the natural landscape and rolling hillside outdoors. Special attention was paid to the classic finishes throughout, enabling the building to age gracefully and stylishly serve Shelby County citizens for years to come.
