Homewood, Alabama

The new home for the Homewood Board of Education Central Office is a 14,500-square-foot, modern structure which is the first phase of a long-term development plan of a 24-acre site in a popular suburb of Birmingham. The design was created to fit the context of existing Homewood Schools’ architectural stylings and features natural stone veneer, a standing seam metal room and a curtain wall system to bring in natural light. The office site is adjacent to the existing Community Garden and the main entrance, designed as a patio, will also serve as the gateway to the garden. The space will allow Homewood City Schools to appropriately accommodate the needs of the administrative staff while providing much-needed room for professional development activities for all schools in the district.
