As a founding partner of Williams Blackstock Architects, Joel has practiced architecture for more than 30 years and is responsible for many landmark buildings throughout the Southeast. He has earned a reputation as a relentless problem solver for the clients of WBA with his creative, flexible and innovative approach to project management. His tireless pursuit of the optimal design solution that creates lasting value – both aesthetically and financially – for his clients is what has driven the growth of the firm for more than 20 years.

Joel is an active member of the Birmingham community, serving as a Board Member for REV Birmingham (formerly Operation New Birmingham), the Alabama Council of the American Institute of Architecture, the Alabama Architectural Foundation and Workshops, Inc. He received his Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Environmental Design from Auburn University.
