Homewood, Alabama

This warm “heart” for fellowship was placed in the crossroads of the church outside of the fellowship hall. It included a new library, private dining, and open café style area for gatherings. The transformative interior design renovation removed corridor walls to open up the space creating indoor outdoor visibility throughout. The design concept was to create a comfortable residential feel with the character of a comfortable coffee shop and library. The design uses a dark rich wood throughout and comfortable residential furniture to create a relaxing feel. A large coffee bar and harvest table create space for people to gather as well as serving tables for a buffet lines where food is picked up with lines on each side of the large tables and brought to evening dinner events in the adjacent 300 seat fellow ship hall. The 70’s vintage fellowship hall was renovated with dark wood finishes and new lighting to create a comfortable heart for fellowship in the church whether it is a few people visiting over coffee or 300 assembling for a dinner event.
